Virginia Smith cared for each person she met. She connected with students at a level beyond what you would expect from a school nurse in the 1970's. She was professional and kind. She never had a harsh word or made a negative judgment about anyone. And while kids in the 1970's were a tough pill to swallow, in many ways and for many people, Nurse Smith always saw the positive. You could look into her eyes and see that she was and would always be a great friend. And she has been.

Our thoughts go out to the Smith family. Virginia lived a long and fruitful life. She was a pillar in the Alexandria community and will be missed by all.

Sincerely,
