Mrs. BabetteM. Milliken of Fairfax, VA., died August 31, 2008 at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. She was a long time resident of Fairfax, Virginia.
She was born in New York City, New York on August 11, 1919 and grew up in New York and Connecticut. In 1943 she married Robert Maxwell Milliken, an Army officer and cavalryman, in West Hartford, Connecticut. Colonel and Mrs. Milliken shared a life shaped by the traditions of proud service in the United States Army. They and their two daughters traveled extensively, living in Camp Polk, Louisiana, Munich, Germany, Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Oslo, Norway, before Colonel Milliken's final posting at the Pentagon and then his retirement. They had lived in Fairfax, Virginia since 1965. She was a devoted wife, a beloved mother and grandmother, a dear and trusted friend to many and a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Milliken of Alexandria, Virginia, Bobbi Milliken of Oak Hill, Virginia, and a granddaughter, Caitlyn Milliken Nicholson, of Richmond, Virginia. Relatives and friends may call at the Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA, from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, September 15. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 16 at 11 AM in Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be buried alongside her husband, Bob. Please assemble at the Administration Building by 10:30 AM. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mrs. Milliken may send a gift to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718 or a charity of their choice.

Aunt Babs I will miss you. Many years have passed without seeing you, but everyone, including you have always been in my thoughts. Say Hi to Dad for me and have a great reunion with Uncle Paul, Dad, and Uncle Bob. Kathy, Bobbi and Caty we love you all.

We thank God for Babzie being in our lives.She was a caring,loving and giving lady.She had a way of making everyone feel special. She was loved and will be missed greatly by everyone she knew.God has another angel.

Dearest Kathy, Bobbi & Caitlyn: Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. Aunt Babs was such a wonderful lady that I always adored and we are so glad that we got to see her at your birthday party. she will forever be in our hearts, and you will forever be in our prayers. Imagine Uncle Bob, Aunt Babs and Paul up there in heaven together again - the laughs they must be having!
